The Mem Note Editor is where all your ideas come to life. From writing fresh notes to polishing drafts with AI, the editor gives you powerful tools to capture, organize, and share your work. Below you’ll find guides to each action available inside the editor.

Create Note Button
Start fresh anytime with a new note!Click on the ‘Create Note’ button in the top left of the app or the pencil-and-note icon.

Get Started With Templates
Jumpstart your writing with a pre-made template! Templates help you quickly create consistent structures for meeting notes, journals, or project outlines.Manage your templates from your profile dropdown menu in the top left corner of the app.

Organize
Keep notes grouped and searchable by adding them to Collections. No more folders!You can add a note to a Collection via Mem Chat”
You can also add a note to a Collection after clipping a web page with the Mem Chrome Extension:

Voice Mode
Record and transcribe conversations or meetings directly into a note!
Clean Up
Turn rough notes into polished text with AI in one click.
Pin
Pin your important or active notes to the top-left sidebar for quick access and reference!
Click on the 3-dot menu to find more note actions available in the app!

Share
Collaborate by sharing notes with others! Click on Share from the 3-dot menu. A pop-up will come up to add another Mem 2.0 user’s name or email address. Click on the Share button when you’re done.
Sharing is currently limited to other Mem 2.0 users.
View Version History
See past edits and restore older versions of your note.
Editor Actions
Formatting Bar
Style your text with bold, italics, headings, and more.Select a string of text or a word for the formatting bar will appear. Choose how you want to format your text. To remove all formatting, click on the slashed-T icon.
Markdown
For power users, Mem supports Markdown shortcuts:h1 - # + spaceh2 - ## + space
h3 - ### + space
h4 - #### + space
h5 - ##### + space

bold - ** bold this ** (enclose text with double asterisks)
italic - * italicize this * (enclose text with single asterisks)
quote block - greater-than, > + space (hit Return twice to get out of quote block)
code block - three back tics, ``` + space (hit Return 3x to get out of code block)
bulleted list - dash, - + space (hit Return twice to get out of bulleted list)
checklist - left and right square brackets, [] + space (hit Return twice to get out of checklist)

Mentions
Link with other notes with @ within a note
In an open note, type @ followed by the title of an existing note. A dropdown list with note suggestions will appear. Click on the note you want to link.You can also create a new note by typing the title of the new note and clicking on ‘Create a new note’ when the title name is complete. This new note will appear in your Notes view.

Collections
Use Collections instead of folders to organize your notes. A note can live in more than one Collection at once.Add a note to a Collection by clicking on Organize and typing the Collection name. You can also create a new Collection to add to the note in this window.

Trash
Deleted notes are stored safely until you empty the trash. View your Trash from your profile dropdown menu at the top right of the app.
Mem Panel
Heads Up
Find a list of related notes to the active note under Heads Up.
Chat
Ask Mem questions or interact with your notes conversationally.
Tab Actions
Split Button
Open a second panel to view another note, Collection, Search results list, or Home view!
